Rebecca White Violin Teacher

Rebecca White

Founder/Director of Pickerington Suzuki Strings

Rebecca has been instructing students in her home for the past 12 years.   She founded Pickerington Suzuki Strings after her second child was born and she wanted the benefit of both teaching violin and staying home with her children.

Rebecca’s teaching follows Dr. Suzuki’s philosophy that “Every Child Can Learn” given the right environment.  She teaches with the broad view that the instrument is the vehicle to help the student develop not only musically but also as a human being with a kind heart.  Some of the activities the students participate in to help in their development are private and group lessons, solo and group recitals, nursing home visits and a Christmas concert benefitting the Pickerington Food Pantry.

In addition to directing PSS, she teaches at Denison University in their Suzuki program where she helps run the group classes and winter workshops.  She teaches at weekend workshops and is on the faculty of many summer Suzuki Institutes.  She also enjoys playing in the Newark-Granville Symphony. Born into a Suzuki family, she began studying the violin at the age of four. This gives her the unique perspective of being on all three sides of the Suzuki triangle to her home students and the many she teaches at workshops and institutes around the country.
